# 8 Best Freight Broker Software (2026)

> Few software tools are built for a freight brokerage's own work. Here are eight, one per use case: four broker TMSs and four tools that run on the TMS you have, from the inbox to carrier vetting. Most brokerages build the rest themselves.

A freight brokerage of a few hundred people runs on its TMS, and the back-office work around it comes down to four jobs: turning a shipper's email or rate confirmation into a load, covering it with a checked carrier, tracking it to delivery, and turning the POD and the carrier's bill into an invoice.

Few software tools are built for that work. Past the TMS that holds the loads, carriers and money, a handful of tools each take one job. The eight below are one per use case: **four TMSs** for four kinds of brokerage, and **four tools** that run on the TMS you already have.

Most brokerages build the rest themselves, from a spreadsheet and a macro to a TMS of their own. That is where we come in: Qvery builds custom AI agents for a brokerage's operations, on the TMS and inbox it already runs. If you need one, [get in touch](https://qvery.ai/contact/).

Every entry is ranked on its own pages and prices as of October 29, 2026, its Capterra or G2 rating where it has one, and what brokers say about it on Reddit, with vendor staff and promoters screened out.

**What Reddit says**

> Everyone built their own for three reasons
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Oct 2026](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1xbtl88/automation_and_ai_in_freight_broking_back_office/19rhpt6npcwn5/))

> ([r/FreightBrokers · Nov 2025](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1onsj5m/what_ai_tools_are_you_using/nmz8tyw/))

The first two are why this list is short. A brokerage whose work does not fit the software on sale writes its own; the first broker's reasons are fit, cost and keeping its data in house. The third, on switching TMS, is why four of the eight run on the TMS you have.

The fourth marks the line any AI that calls carriers has to cross. On Reddit, the complaints about AI in brokerage are about the phone; AI that reads a rate confirmation draws almost none of them.

## 1. [Tai TMS](https://www.tai-software.com/): AI on Three of the Four Jobs, With Prices on the Page

![Tai's homepage, headed Run Your Entire Brokerage From One Screen, under an announcement that Tai has joined the Descartes Systems Group](https://qvery.ai/blog/best-freight-broker-software/screenshot-tai-homepage.webp)

*Tai's homepage, captured October 29, 2026*

Tai is a TMS built for freight brokers, and its own pages put AI on **three of the four jobs**: the order, the tracking and the carrier bill. Its voice agent calls drivers around the clock in several languages, with no driver app for them to install.

Covering the load is the one job where Tai offers tools rather than an agent: rates, carrier quotes and load boards on one screen, with the choice left to your rep.

Tai says its automation saves a broker 11 hours a week on average, and its CEO told [Transport Topics](https://www.ttnews.com/articles/tms-vendors-ai-trucking) that customers using the email tool saw their load win rates rise by more than 30%. Both are Tai's own numbers.

**The owner changed** in August 2026. Descartes, which already sells the Aljex TMS, [bought Tai](https://www.descartes.com/resources/news/descartes-acquires-tai) for about $100 million. Ask what that means for the product you sign for.

- Email-scraping AI that builds the shipment from the tender.
- Track & Trace AI agent that calls drivers 24/7 and logs every update in the load.
- Carrier-bill audit against the rate confirmation, exceptions flagged.
- Two-way integrations with DAT, Truckstop and 123Loadboard; tracking from Macropoint, Trucker Tools and FourKites in the same record.
- FTL, LTL, partials and drayage in one workflow, with a customer portal.

> 💰 **Pricing**
> - **Growth:** $995 a month, 2 staff logins, 200 shipments included
> - **Premium:** $2,465 a month, 6 staff logins, 600 shipments
> - **Premium +:** $4,595 a month, 12 staff logins, 1,200 shipments
> - **Pro:** $7,925 a month, 25 staff logins, 2,500 shipments
> - **Larger brokerages:** priced with sales

> 🤖 **The Four Jobs** Order entry: the email AI builds the shipment. Carrier: no agent; the tools put the options on one screen. Tracking: the voice agent calls drivers on the frequency rules you set and logs a call summary. Paperwork: carrier bills checked against the rate confirmation and the mismatches flagged for review instead of paid.

Rating: 4.4 / 5 on Capterra (77 reviews on Capterra)

**What Reddit says**

> We started with Tai when we were doing about 400 loads a month, and we love it.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Mar 2026](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1phthae/tms_recommendations/o8owsk2/))

> ([r/FreightBrokers · Dec 2025](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1phthae/tms_recommendations/nt18ujo/))

**Pros**
- AI on three of the four jobs inside one broker TMS
- Four tiers priced on its page
- One brokerage on Reddit grew on it from 400 to 1,200 loads a month

**Cons**
- The published tiers stop at 25 staff logins
- A new owner since August 2026
- Some brokers call it expensive, and some its onboarding hard

The test: forward a day of real tenders and rate confirmations to the email AI in the demo, and count the fields someone had to fix.

## 2. [McLeod PowerBroker](https://www.mcleodsoftware.com/): The Incumbent, With Partner AI Working Inside It

![McLeod Software's homepage, headed The Most Complete Transportation Management System, over a photo of a truck on a mountain highway](https://qvery.ai/blog/best-freight-broker-software/screenshot-mcleod-homepage.webp)

*McLeod Software's homepage, captured October 29, 2026*

McLeod has served the trucking industry for more than 40 years, and PowerBroker is its broker TMS. Its own AI starts in the inbox: its communication tools "even generate quotes or initiate orders directly from incoming emails", Auto Match fills order fields, and document capture indexes the paperwork.

McLeod's vice president of growth and special projects told Transport Topics it keeps "humans in the loop to validate the information".

The carrier and tracking work comes through partners that now run inside PowerBroker. In August 2026 McLeod and Augment [announced](https://www.mcleodsoftware.com/why-mcleod/resources/press-releases/mcleod-software-and-augment-announce-ai-integration-to-automate-logistics-workflows-in-powerbroker-tms/) that Augment's AI, Augie, handles carrier calls and emails, rate questions, carrier validation and load status updates inside PowerBroker, with CRST among the first customers.

CRST's vice president of transportation technology put **both decisions** in one sentence: "the TMS serves as our system of record, while Augie operates as our system of action."

- RespondAI: quotes generated from incoming emails and load tenders.
- Auto Match and the FlowLogix workflow builder.
- Document capture from scan stations, mobile apps and email.
- Augment's Augie inside PowerBroker for carrier calls, emails and status updates.
- A Highway partnership for carrier monitoring.

> 💰 **Pricing** Not published. The demo form asks for your number of users.

> 🤖 **The Four Jobs** Order entry: McLeod's own email AI, with a person validating. Carrier and tracking: Augment's AI inside PowerBroker, a partner's product. Paperwork: document capture and indexing; its AI page makes no claim on matching a carrier bill to the rate confirmation.

No rating: the McLeod reviews on G2 are of LoadMaster, its carrier product, and we found none for PowerBroker.

**What Reddit says**

> I wouldn't recommend McLeod to a brokerage with less than 100 employees.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Nov 2023](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/snu3j4/mcleod_review/ka7qz6r/))

> McLeod is really good but you have to be prepared to spend the money for it.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Aug 2023](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/15hggc9/need_tms_advice/juqk1gv/))

> McLeod can do it all but I feel like they are falling behind in innovation.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Aug 2024](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1f5drdu/tms_crm/lksqary/))

The low score is about price and support, almost never about the AI. The same customer who drew the line at 100 employees says they spend well over $500,000 a year on it.

**Pros**
- More than 40 years in transportation software
- Email AI with a person validating
- Carrier and tracking AI arriving inside it, not beside it

**Cons**
- No published price
- The carrier and tracking AI comes from a partner
- Brokers on Reddit complain about cost and support

The test: ask which of the four jobs run in PowerBroker today and which arrive through a partner, and get both prices on one page.

## 3. [FreightScout](https://freightscout.ai/): All Four Jobs on the TMS You Keep

![FreightScout's homepage, headed More freight per rep. Not more reps., beside a sample outreach draft and a load board](https://qvery.ai/blog/best-freight-broker-software/screenshot-freightscout-homepage.webp)

*FreightScout's homepage, captured October 29, 2026*

FreightScout is not a TMS. It sits on McLeod, Aljex, Tai "or any other" TMS and does **all four jobs** while the TMS stays the system of record, the only entry claiming all four. It connects by API where the TMS has one and by reading the TMS in place where it does not.

It runs supervised by default, and you switch booking or outreach to autopilot per team and per action. A truck that will not answer, detention, a breakdown and an angry shipper go to your floor.

It also has the thinnest independent record here. We found **no reviews** on G2 or Capterra and **no mention** in the Reddit threads we read, so everything above is FreightScout's own description.

- Build: the load from email, PDF and EDI tenders.
- Cover: carrier vetting and booking to your ceiling.
- Track: AI check calls, logged in the TMS.
- Bill: POD matched to the load, invoice sent, payment chased.
- A dial from supervised to autopilot, set per action.

> 💰 **Pricing**
> - **Platform:** $1,500 a month, three seats included
> - **Each added seat:** $349 a month
> - **Sales seat:** $79 a month
> - **Implementation:** $5,000 up to 15 seats, $10,000 for 16 to 40, from $20,000 above 40, split over three months
> - **Paid yearly:** two months free
> - **Example:** a floor of 40 seats pays $1,500 plus 37 seats at $349, so $14,413 a month, plus $10,000 to start

> 🤖 **The Four Jobs** All four, on the TMS you keep, supervised until you change that per action. It is the clearest case on this list of adding AI without changing the TMS, and the least proven one.

**Pros**
- All four jobs without replacing the TMS
- Seat and setup prices on the page, AI included and not metered
- Supervised until you say otherwise

**Cons**
- No G2 or Capterra reviews and no Reddit mentions found yet
- Without an API it reads the TMS in place, so ask what happens when the TMS updates
- The 40-seat example runs past $14,000 a month

The test: ask for two weeks supervised on one desk's loads, and count every action someone corrected before approving it.

## 4. [Revenova](https://www.revenova.com/): The TMS and the CRM in One Salesforce Login

![Revenova's homepage, headed Transportation Management System That Unifies AI, CRM, & Logistics, on a dark blue background](https://qvery.ai/blog/best-freight-broker-software/screenshot-revenova-homepage.webp)

*Revenova's homepage, captured October 29, 2026*

Revenova is a TMS built on Salesforce, so the brokerage's sales pipeline and its loads live in **one system**. Its AI agent, Artimus, works the inbox from both sides: the customer's email becomes a load or a quote, and the carrier's truck list becomes capacity. Each correction your team makes teaches it.

Revenova's industry relations manager told Transport Topics that billing errors, accessorial disputes and late invoices "originate at the point of load creation and quoting, when unstructured data gets manually re-keyed". Fix the load on the way in and the invoice has less to argue about.

- Artimus: loads built from customer emails.
- Artimus: carrier truck emails logged as capacity, matching loads sent back.
- Quotes from your stored rate data.
- TMS and CRM on the Salesforce platform, with its app marketplace.

> 💰 **Pricing** Not published. A broker who demoed it [wrote on Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/170jufw/torn_between_turvo_and_revenova_for_our_tms_need/k3lemb0/) that most of the money goes to the Salesforce subscription; ask for both lines on one quote.

> 🤖 **The Four Jobs** Order entry and carrier capacity, both from email, and quote replies sent from your stored rates. No AI claim on tracking or on the carrier bill.

Rating: 4.3 / 5 on G2 (43 reviews on G2)

**What Reddit says**

> Went from mercurygate to revenova, felt like a caveman discovering fire
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Aug 2023](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/15hggc9/need_tms_advice/juticq2/))

> Revenova for ~4-5yrs and content with it.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Dec 2025](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1phthae/tms_recommendations/nt1h294/))

> Revenova would tell us quarter after quarter, year after year things would get fixed and be better and 2 years later you'd be told it isn't possible.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Aug 2023](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/15hggc9/need_tms_advice/jvaqls6/))

**Pros**
- The highest Reddit Score on this list
- Sales and operations in one system
- AI on the email side, where load errors start

**Cons**
- No published price
- Users say integrations mean working through Salesforce
- No AI on tracking or billing

The test: if your sales team already lives in Salesforce, run a week of quote emails through Artimus and compare its quotes with your reps'.

## 5. [Rose Rocket](https://www.roserocket.com/): Email-to-Order AI and Unlimited Users at One Published Price

![Rose Rocket's homepage, headed Transportation's Best AI Platform, over a photo of a truck on a forest road](https://qvery.ai/blog/best-freight-broker-software/screenshot-rose-rocket-homepage.webp)

*Rose Rocket's homepage, captured October 29, 2026*

Rose Rocket, listed on Capterra as TMS.AI, sells one platform to brokers and carriers, with **unlimited users and agents** on every plan. TED reads the email your customers already send, creates or updates the order, and syncs the documents into the TMS.

Rosie answers questions about the load on screen; Rocky builds workflows and handles your procedures and compliance. You choose what the AI may do: extract the attachments but not create the order, for example.

Its pricing page promises a full deployment within 90 days. That is the vendor's own timeline, and it is the number to hold it to if you replace a TMS.

- TED: emails to orders, updated as new emails arrive, documents synced.
- Rosie and Rocky: questions about a record, workflows built in plain language.
- No-code boards, fields and automations.
- Order, dispatch, tracking, invoicing and freight audit in one platform.

> 💰 **Pricing**
> - **Full Service Platform:** from $2,080 a month, unlimited users, all AI agents, white-glove implementation with a 90-day go-live
> - **Enterprise:** custom pricing, adding SSO, custom SLAs and unlimited API access

> 🤖 **The Four Jobs** Order entry: TED turns the email into the order. Carrier, tracking and paperwork: platform features and automations you configure, with agents its homepage describes building orders, optimizing routes and flagging exceptions.

Rating: 4.4 / 5 on Capterra (35 reviews on Capterra)

**What Reddit says**

> I use rose rocket and it’s by far the most customer tailored and most straight forward program.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Jan 2025](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1i27nfs/anyone_use_ascendtms_or_thoughts_on_better_options/m7z05ga/))

> ([r/FreightBrokers · Feb 2025](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1ik8j2x/anyone_use_rocket_rocket_platform_that_launched/mdo2caz/))

**Pros**
- Unlimited users and agents at a published starting price
- The email-to-order agent is built in
- Fits a brokerage that also runs trucks

**Cons**
- AI mostly on order entry
- One user found its newer Platform more work than the classic TMS
- Replacing a TMS is the riskier decision of the two

The test: ask for the 90-day go-live plan in writing, with your EDI customers and your accounting connection in it.

## 6. [Vooma](https://www.vooma.com/): Your Inbox Read Into Whichever TMS You Run

![Vooma's homepage, headed Win and move more freight, over a photo of a truck on a winding mountain road](https://qvery.ai/blog/best-freight-broker-software/screenshot-vooma-homepage.webp)

*Vooma's homepage, captured October 29, 2026*

Vooma is AI that works on top of your TMS, and it starts with the first job on every load: **the order**. You forward the email, the PDF, the spreadsheet or a screenshot; it extracts the shipment, you review and edit it, and it pushes the load to the TMS by EDI or API.

It also quotes from your rate sources, tracks by emailing, texting or calling drivers on your cadence, books appointments, and runs a carrier sales agent.

It lists TMS integrations with Turvo, McLeod, Aljex, Tai and Revenova, and Aljex's own pricing page lists Vooma as an available integration.

- Build: load orders read from email, PDF, spreadsheets and screenshots, reviewed before they post.
- Quote: replies to quote requests from your pricing engines and rate history.
- Track: email, text and calls on your cadence, escalated by your own rules.
- Cover and Schedule: carrier sales and appointment booking.

> 💰 **Pricing** Not published; its site carries no pricing page.

> 🤖 **The Four Jobs** Order entry, carrier and tracking, on the TMS you keep. The order step has a review screen before anything reaches the TMS, which is the right place for a person on day one.

No rating: we found no G2 or Capterra reviews.

**What Reddit says**

> Vooma is a new one that worked well in my experience. Took rates from the DAT and internal data to calculate FTL rate
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Nov 2025](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1p11iz9/ai_bot_to_quote_daily_spot_lanes/npor2rc/))

> Vooma! Our company uses them, saved me from crying all day!
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Dec 2025](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1p11iz9/ai_bot_to_quote_daily_spot_lanes/nrst9sn/))

Brokers who have used it speak well of it, but there are only five independent mentions in the threads we read; five of its twelve mentions there come from one account that says it works at Vooma, and we left those out.

**Pros**
- Order entry from emails, PDFs, spreadsheets and screenshots into five common broker TMSs
- A review step before a load posts
- Quoting and tracking from the same inbox

**Cons**
- No published price
- Almost no independent record
- Its voice tracking meets the pushback carriers give AI calls

The test: send it last week's worst tenders, the scanned PDF, the spreadsheet with ten loads and the email with the pickup address in the signature.

## 7. [Parade](https://parade.ai/): Carrier Calls and Emails Turned Into Capacity

![Parade's homepage, headed Parade Platform and Book more freight than ever before, under a banner announcing Estimated Carrier Bid](https://qvery.ai/blog/best-freight-broker-software/screenshot-parade-homepage.webp)

*Parade's homepage, captured October 29, 2026*

Parade works on one job, **covering the load**, and works it from the carrier side. CoDriver answers inbound carrier calls and emails, qualifies the truck, captures the quote and logs it.

Estimated Carrier Bid shows what carriers are asking for a lane, carrier verification is built in, and it plugs into your TMS and load boards. A customer quoted on its CoDriver page says carrier emails and calls took three to four hours a day per rep before it.

Mudflap [acquired Parade](https://www.parade.ai/resources/parade-has-joined-forces-with-mudflap) in April 2026, adding a carrier network of more than 515,000 drivers across more than 100,000 carriers; Parade says the product and the team stay as they are.

- CoDriver: carrier calls and emails answered, quotes captured.
- Estimated Carrier Bid: a live read of carrier asks per lane.
- Automated load offers, private carrier portals and load-board syndication.
- Carrier verification and TMS integrations.

> 💰 **Pricing** Not published; its pricing page returns an error.

> 🤖 **The Four Jobs** Carrier only, and that job is the one on the phone with carriers. Order entry, tracking and paperwork stay with your TMS and the tools around it.

Rating: 5.0 / 5 on Capterra (3 reviews on Capterra)

**What Reddit says**

> We found you get what you put into parade… I took a bit but now our brokers love it.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Dec 2024](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1hb7fxy/carrier_sales_crm_that_doesnt_suck/m1hw2lj/))

> Parade is helpful for dedicated freight you have set with a customer and a carrier.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Jul 2023](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/14rrfvg/paradeai/jqwhaac/))

> We were a customer for 2 years. They got so bad over the years we canceled in the beginning of the year
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Sep 2024](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1fduut1/capacity/lmp7liu/))

Most of these opinions date from 2023 and 2024, before the Mudflap deal.

**Pros**
- Built for the carrier side of covering a load
- A live benchmark of carrier asks
- Works with your TMS rather than replacing it

**Cons**
- One job of the four
- No published price
- Brokers split on it, and most of their opinions predate the Mudflap deal

The test: ask what share of a similar brokerage's covered loads Parade booked with carriers it already knew, and what share needed a rep.

## 8. [Highway](https://highway.com/): Carrier Vetting and Fraud Checks on Every Load

![Highway's homepage, headed It all starts with Carrier Identity, beside a carrier profile whose assessment passes its authority, insurance and equipment rules](https://qvery.ai/blog/best-freight-broker-software/screenshot-highway-homepage.webp)

*Highway's homepage, captured October 29, 2026*

Highway takes one job, **checking the carrier**, and brokers on Reddit call it the standard for it. Its Connect product verifies the person behind each carrier with a government ID, a live photo match and proof they can act for the carrier, then applies your rules on insurance, authority, lane history and equipment.

The checking does not stop at onboarding. A carrier that falls out of compliance is deactivated in your TMS, Load Lock watches each load from tender to pickup, and the rate confirmation goes only to the verified carrier. Use those together and Highway puts **up to $100,000** against stolen freight on a qualifying load.

Its partners page lists integrations with McLeod, Tai, Revenova, Turvo, Aljex and other broker TMSs, and with Parade and Vooma.

Carriers write much of what Reddit says about Highway, often after being flagged when they changed their FMCSA contact details. A broker says its agreement with Highway at the time [barred telling a carrier why it was flagged](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1v4kbt7/highway/p0q7s50/), and those carriers are your capacity.

One broker skipped it for another reason: ["we'd already built an in house version of the same thing"](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1w64w9d/small_brokers_are_you_priced_out_of_tools_like/p7l4wh5/), years before Highway arrived.

- Connect: identity checks on the person behind each carrier, and your rules applied to every one.
- Monitoring that deactivates a carrier in your TMS when it falls out of compliance.
- Load Lock: each load watched from tender to pickup.
- Secure Rate Con Delivery, and Know Your Driver at pickup.
- Integrations with McLeod, Tai, Revenova, Turvo, Aljex and other TMSs.

> 💰 **Pricing** Not published; its plans page lists Connect Core, Load Lock and fraud add-ons, each behind a demo. A new broker on Reddit was [quoted $1,500 a month](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1v4kbt7/highway/), and another says it costs [$350 through AscendTMS](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1v4kbt7/highway/ph3e8nj/).

> 🤖 **The Four Jobs** Carrier only, and none of it is sold as AI: identity checks, your rules and monitoring on every carrier, before and during the load. Finding the truck stays with your reps or a tool like Parade, and the call to a new carrier stays with your team.

No rating: we found no G2 or Capterra reviews.

**What Reddit says**

> I highly recommend it with the insane amount of fraud in the industry.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Jul 2026](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1v4kbt7/highway/ozebgao/))

> For the time highway is best available tool for carrier vetting.
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Feb 2026](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1r5sxi4/experience_with_highway/o5mh80a/))

> Highway is slow to respond, has conflicting data from one page to the next
> ([r/FreightBrokers · Jul 2026](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreightBrokers/comments/1v4kbt7/highway/ozc5zi4/))

The score leaves carriers out. Brokers' complaints are about good carriers flagged, slow support and add-ons sold on top, and two say a load still went wrong with Highway in place.

**Pros**
- Brokers on Reddit call it the vetting standard
- Works inside the major broker TMSs
- Up to $100,000 behind a qualifying load

**Cons**
- No published price
- Carriers complain of wrong flags, and they are your capacity
- Does no load work itself

The test: run last month's new carriers through it in the demo, and ask why each flagged one was flagged and whether you may tell the carrier.

## Where the AI Runs Matters More Than How Much of It There Is

**The eight entries, side by side**

| Tool | Use case | AI on the four jobs | Price | Reddit Score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tai TMS | A TMS with AI built in | Order entry, tracking, paperwork | $995 to $7,925/mo; larger by quote | 47.1 |
| McLeod PowerBroker | The incumbent TMS | Email; carrier and tracking via Augment | Not published | 32.5 |
| FreightScout | AI on your TMS | All four, supervised | $1,500/mo for 3 seats, $349 each after | No mentions |
| Revenova | TMS and CRM on Salesforce | Order entry, carrier capacity | Not published | 56.8 |
| Rose Rocket | TMS, unlimited users | Order entry | From $2,080/mo | 46.9 |
| Vooma | Order entry on your TMS | Order entry, carrier, tracking | Not published | Too few mentions |
| Parade | Carrier capacity | Carrier | Not published | 46.9 |
| Highway | Carrier vetting | None claimed; checks carriers | Not published | 44.7 |

Read the second column against the third. **Four of the eight** run on a TMS someone else sells, and McLeod brings a partner's AI inside its own. So the TMS you run seldom rules a tool out. What it decides is which integration you check before you sign.

None of these tools ran a live load for this list. The AI and price columns are each vendor's own account of itself. That is why every entry ends on a test to run on your loads.

## Put AI on the Jobs That Read Paper Before the Ones That Call Carriers

The four jobs are not equal for AI. Two of them read documents: the tender or rate confirmation that becomes a load, and the POD and carrier bill that become an invoice. Call them the reading jobs. Each one has **a document to check** the AI against, and nobody on the other end hangs up.

The other two put AI on the phone: covering the load and tracking it. Carriers on Reddit say they hang up on AI calls, and brokers say the call is part of how they catch fraud.

FMCSA's own [guidance on broker and carrier fraud](https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/mission/help/broker-and-carrier-fraud-and-identity-theft) says to confirm a carrier's phone number against SAFER, to call the number posted there when they differ, and that "Even insurance certificates can be fraudulent."

An AI, or a tool like Highway, can run those lookups on every load. The person who books the load **still owns the call**, and AI on the phone is a decision about your carrier relationships as much as about software.

So time your own week before any demo. Here is the arithmetic with example timings; every number below is an assumption to replace with yours. Say the floor moves 2,000 loads a month:

**One month of loads, illustrative timings**

| Job | Minutes per load | Hours a month |
|---|---|---|
| Order entry from email or rate confirmation | 6 | 200 |
| Covering with a checked carrier | 25 | About 833 |
| Tracking and check calls | 15 | 500 |
| POD and carrier bill to invoice | 8 | About 267 |
| Total | 54 | 1,800 |

In this example the reading jobs are **about a quarter** of the hours, and the phone work is the rest. An AI that takes two thirds of the reading time saves about 311 hours a month without a single carrier hearing a robot.

The phone work holds more hours, and the choice there is how much of the carrier conversation you hand over.

Our logistics playbook follows a load's paperwork from the first rate request to the final invoice, and names the documents an agent can take over first.

Then price the two decisions against those hours. Adding AI to the TMS you have carries one published price on this list: FreightScout's, $14,413 a month plus $10,000 to start for a 40-seat floor; the others quote.

Replacing the TMS to get AI moves your loads, carriers, EDI customers and accounting connection at once, and the only go-live date on these vendors' pages is Rose Rocket's 90 days. Replacing a TMS to get AI is moving house to get a better kettle; do it when the house is the problem.

The first agent for the order job is a short brief. It reads each tender email, PDF or EDI message as it arrives, fills the load in the TMS, checks the rate and accessorials against the customer's rate sheet, and holds anything that does not match.

A person **approves every load** before it posts. Count two things for a month: minutes per load, and fields someone had to correct.

The hours you timed tell you which job the first agent should take, and whether the TMS you have can carry it.

## Start With the Entry That Covers Your Slowest Job

**On McLeod, and the inbox is the bottleneck:** keep PowerBroker and test McLeod's own email AI against Vooma before you look at anything else.

**On McLeod, and carrier calls swamp the floor:** price Augment inside PowerBroker against Parade, and ask your best carriers what they think before you switch either on.

**Shopping for a new TMS with AI already in it:** Tai, with its tiers in hand and the Descartes question asked.

**Sales already lives in Salesforce:** Revenova.

**Want AI on all four jobs without touching the TMS:** FreightScout, supervised, on one desk first.

**A smaller floor that wants unlimited seats at a known price:** Rose Rocket.

**You vet carriers by hand today:** Highway, connected to your TMS, with your own call to every new carrier kept.

Whichever you shortlist, **time one week** of loads by job before the first demo. The job with the most minutes is the one to test first. If it is a reading job, the AI for it very likely works with the TMS you already run; check the integration list before the demo, not after it.

Past these eight, the shelf of software built for brokers is thin, and none of it knows your customers' rules, your lanes or how your floor quotes. That part, **most brokerages build themselves**.

It is the work we do: Qvery builds custom AI agents for a brokerage's operations. If that is the help you need, [get in touch](https://qvery.ai/contact/).

## Frequently asked questions

### Which freight broker software has the best AI features?

FreightScout is the only entry that claims AI on all four jobs, on a TMS you keep; among the TMSs, Tai puts AI on three of them. The best one for you does your slowest job well on your own loads, so time a week by job and test that job first.

### Can AI read rate confirmations and load tenders into our TMS?

Yes, and more tools here do it than any other job: Tai, McLeod, Revenova, Rose Rocket, Vooma and FreightScout all build loads from emails or tenders, and those that say how keep a person in the loop: Vooma shows the extracted fields before they post, McLeod keeps people validating, and FreightScout runs supervised by default.

### Is AI document extraction accurate enough for billing?

No vendor here publishes an accuracy figure for a brokerage's mix of documents, so test it on yours. Tai [audits carrier bills against the rate confirmation](https://qvery.ai/blog/audit-carrier-invoice-ai/) and flags mismatches for review instead of paying them; keep a person on the invoice until a month of results says otherwise.

### Can AI handle check calls and carrier tracking?

It can make the calls: Tai's agent calls drivers on your schedule, and Vooma emails, texts or calls. Carriers on Reddit say they hang up on AI calls, and brokers say a call catches what tracking misses. So start with ELD and app tracking, and keep a person on calls to new carriers.

### Should we replace our TMS or add AI on top of it?

Add, unless the TMS cannot connect to the AI you need. Vooma lists five common broker TMSs, FreightScout names McLeod, Aljex and Tai, and McLeod now runs Augment's AI inside PowerBroker. A brokerage owner on Reddit calls switching TMS awful.

### Can software vet carriers for fraud?

It can run the checks: Highway verifies the person behind each carrier and watches each load, Parade has carrier verification built in, and Augment's AI validates carriers inside PowerBroker. FMCSA still says to confirm a carrier's phone number in SAFER, so the person booking the load keeps the decision.

### Do freight brokerages build their own software?

Many do, from spreadsheets and macros to a TMS of their own. Brokers on Reddit describe in-house TMSs and [a $15 million brokerage that builds its own software](https://www.reddit.com/r/logistics/comments/19ajs1i/what_tms_are_you_using_today/mvx9vx4/), for fit, cost and keeping their data. Building custom AI agents for that work, on the TMS a brokerage already runs, is what Qvery does.
